01 Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using NextStep Math (the "Service"), operated by LLP "AI Laboratory" (Товарищество с ограниченной ответственностью "AI Laboratory"), registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan (BIN: 250840016104), Mynbaeva Street 53, Bostandyk District, Almaty, Kazakhstan 050057 ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms").
If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms apply to all users accessing the Service through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference.
02 Description of Service
NextStep Math is a mobile algebra tutoring application that helps students understand and solve algebra problems through a step-by-step, tap-to-reveal approach. The Service uses AI to process math problems submitted via camera photo or manual input and guides users through solution steps with explanations — rather than providing instant answers.
The Service is available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store).
03 Eligibility and Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 13 years of age or older. If you are between 13 and 18, your parent or legal guardian must have reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will terminate their account and delete associated data promptly.
04 User Accounts
4.1 Registration
To access certain features, you may need to register for an account and provide accurate, complete, and current information. You may also sign in via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google — their respective terms also apply.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your credentials and all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at dev@ai-laboratory.kz of any unauthorized use.
4.3 Account Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time through in-app settings. Data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.
4.4 Account Suspension or Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or for any other reason that protects the integrity of the Service.
05 Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
- Use the Service to cheat on graded exams or assessments where such use is prohibited by your school or institution
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, its servers, or systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers without our prior written consent
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity
- Transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices within the Service
- Attempt to circumvent any subscription or paywall mechanism
- Share, resell, or sublicense your account or access to any third party
06 Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Ownership
The Service and all its content — text, graphics, logos, UI design, software code, AI models, solution explanations, and mathematical content created by us — are owned by LLP "AI Laboratory" or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
6.2 License to You
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. This license does not include the right to copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.
6.3 Your Content
When you submit a photo or enter a math expression, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to process that content solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership. We do not use your submitted problems or photos to train AI models.
6.4 Feedback
If you provide suggestions or feedback about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
07 Payments and Subscriptions
7.1 Subscription Plans
NextStep Math offers subscription plans unlocking premium features (unlimited problem solving, ad-free experience). Pricing and available plans are displayed in the app before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
7.2 Billing and Payment Processing
All payments are processed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), and subscription management is handled via RevenueCat. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.
7.3 Free Trial
If we offer a free trial, it begins immediately upon activation. If not cancelled before the trial ends, your subscription converts to a paid plan automatically.
7.4 Cancellation
Cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for unused portions.
7.5 Refunds
All refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
7.6 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. For existing subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via in-app notification or email before any price increase.
08 In-App Advertising
Non-subscribed users may see ads served by Google AdMob. By using the free tier, you acknowledge that ads may appear. We do not show personalized ads to users under 13. On iOS, we request your ATT permission before enabling personalized ads. Subscribed users enjoy an ad-free experience. See our Privacy Policy for opt-out instructions.
09 AI-Generated Content
The Service uses AI (including large language models) to generate step-by-step math solutions and explanations. You acknowledge that:
- The Service is a learning aid, not a substitute for understanding.
- We are not liable for academic consequences resulting from misuse of AI-generated content.
- We do not use your submitted problems or photos to train AI models.

12 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LLP "AI Laboratory" and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: your use or misuse of the Service; your violation of these Terms; your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights; or any content you submit.
13 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Disputes shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
14 Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date, display an in-app notice, and email registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
15 Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Active subscriptions will not be automatically refunded — contact the relevant app store. Sections on Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, and Miscellaneous survive termination.
16 Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement: these Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and LLP "AI Laboratory" regarding the Service.
Severability: if any provision is found invalid, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and remaining provisions continue in full force.
Waiver: our failure to enforce any provision shall not be deemed a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
Assignment: you may not assign your rights without our prior written consent. We may assign ours without restriction.
Language: these Terms are written in English. In case of conflict between a translation and the English version, English prevails.
